We are a back to basics family dedicated to living simply and as naturally as possible. We are a home-based business dedicated to sharing our love of natural homemade products and ideas.
Jason is the man with the very green thumb. Responsible for keeping up the homestead after working his day job he miraculously manages to grow our herbs and foods naturally. Each year we're expanding the variety and amounts that we grow and are always planning something new for the future, such as a keeping a dairy cow, greatly expanding the garden, or expanding our vermiculture, etc. You can view Jason's Blog here.
Holly is our residential soap and toiletries maker, toddler tender, seamstress, cook, etc. She's able to spend her days at home with our tenacious redheaded toddler, making nearly everything from scratch and always thinking up new ways to simplify our lives or make something more natural and frugal.
We believe that it's definitely possible to live with much less than society has convinced us we need. We are firm believers that our country's excess consumerism is damaging in several ways. Since forming our family we have found that our life is much more enjoyable and gratifying when we learn to live on less.....less chemicals, less additives, less gadgets that actually take more time and money than they're worth....just less stuff!
A natural progression of our "less is more" and "back to basics" lifestyle was learning to make soap for our household and extended family and friends. Holly found that she really enjoyed coming up with recipes and remedies that could be addressed through soaps and other homemade toiletries. At this point all of our soaps, shampoos, conditioner, insect repellent, baby care products and deodorant are homemade.
